Outdoors

Ahh, the backyard.  This was my #1 requirement on our house checklist.  We spent a lot of time sitting on our deck growing up, and it was something I was sorely missing in our condo.  Sure, we're surrounded by parks we can go to, but there's nothing like just walking outside to relax in the sun or to soak up the outdoor air.  And of course, having a dog makes a yard much more desirable!
Our property is split into two levels.  The bottom is the patio area, which is currently divided in half between a concrete deck and gravel.  The first thing we're going to do next year is build a deck that spans the whole length of the house!  I'd like the make this whole space more usable, but mostly, I can't stand gravel!
I can't wait to paint our house another color!  On one hand, I love that it's like the house from Up (cutest 10 minutes ever), but on the other hand, I get tired of looking at that yellow fast!  In fact, one day I just started playing around and now our shed is black :)!  Pictures coming soon!  I also plan to paint the house white and add some black shutters!
Anyway, back to the tour, we have a little hill full of shrubs and one giant tree, leading up to our grassy area.

The yard is nice and big and great for dogs to run around in.  Of course, our dog and all our friends dogs don't really like playing fetch, they all just like to wander around sniffing things. But hey, yard!

I am literally dying to build a live edge table for the patio!  I can't wait to string up some globe lights and have dinner parties out back!!  But alas, it's probably going to have to wait until we can extend the usable space- unless people want to eat in the gravel?

The front yard needs some inspiration too!
Like I mentioned earlier, I'd love to eventually paint our house white, and paint the door black.  We'd like to add a short white fence in the front as well, as that's where we usually let Mia out.  And, hydrangeas are a must!!  Lots and lots of hydrangeas!!!

I'd love to have a Grecian vibe in our backyard, but logistically, I just don't think it would go with our house.  Wouldn't it be pretty though?
