This weekend we drove to Portland to attend Tim's sister's graduation (she just earned her Master's in Education!).
I love seeing other cities around Christmas time, and was so glad we got to see Boston and Portland in all their glory!
We tried to get a table in the Whiskey Library, but it was too busy! Can you see why? How adorable is that?
Instead, we ended up at a speakeasy called Barlow, with the cutest decor and wonderful drinks! They have a bit of an old Hollywood Glamor vibe.
Then we had the best dinner at Grassa. It's this casual pasta eatery where you can see the chefs making fresh pasta right at the counter! You order first then sit down, and the food is so simple and amazing, and well priced! We will definitely be returning on our next trip to Portland!
^ This picture cracks me up, like father like son!
We stayed at my favorite hotel, the Hilton downtown. If you come to Portland during the off season, this place has unbeatable prices and it's so centrally located! Plus, the pillows are to die for! I had to be dragged out of bed at check out time!
We had a nice leisurely morning because we were so tired from the last couple weeks! We slept in, then popped around the corner to Kure Juice Bar for some amazing acai bowls and juice that we brought back to the hotel until check out!
And, can't leave Portland without picking up some cold brew from Stumptown Coffee Roasters for later! I can't really do caffeine very well, it makes me anxious, so I choose my random coffee treats carefully!
So long for now Portland! It's always nice to escape for a mini trip down there! We really need to escape up north to Vancouver more often!
