Sun Studios!

OK, as much as I loved Graceland (could you tell?), Sun Studio was #1!!!
The hour long tour was so fascinating!  Our tour guide was obviously enthusiastic about the studio and well versed in it's historical significance.  She was a true fan of the music!

Their original ad from the paper!

Lots of Elvis memorabilia!

Memphis the Musical (so good!) was loosely based on the life of DJ Dewey Phillips.  The building that contained his original broadcasting booth was being torn down recently, and Sun Studio was able to bring it into their museum!
The first record of Elvis's that was played on national radio from Dewey Phillips's  booth, signed:
Now this room is awesome!  This is literally the room where so many great stars got started!  Elvis, Johnny Cash, B.B. King, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison, and so many others recorded here!
While this room has been rented out to many various businesses over the years, it's never once been remodeled and it's still got all the essence of the great blues artists from the 60s.
This X marks the spot...exactly where Elvis recorded his first song!!! Ahhhh!

And this, ladies and gentlemen....is the microphone that Elvis recorded on!!!!

Million Dollar Quartet!  You've probably heard the recordings that were released in 1990, or seen the musical.  Happened right here!  Amazing!!

You absolutely must check out Sun Studio if you're in the area!!! It's amazing!!!!!
