It's a Party!

This weekend, I hosted a family birthday party for my mom and my aunt Sara.

The color scheme was black & gold, with pink accents!

Most of the party supplies came from Shop Sweet Lulu, along with Party City and Michael's.

I made these tissue paper pom poms using a number of tutorials.  Just Google "tissue paper pom pom" and there are lots of easy tutorials!  They only took a few minutes to make, and create such a big impact for a few dollars!
I made the black and white ones by alternating silver and black peices of tissue paper!
Favor bags, from Shop Sweet Lulu, were filled with fortune cookies (my mom's favorite!), and sealed with an aqua sticker!
We also bought a big bag of clear balloons (that look like condoms) that were stuffed with confetti and blown up.
I made a festive tissue paper garland to hang out on mantle as well!
Our big chalkboard held the menu!  I am giving this to a friend but since I still had it hanging around, I figured I might as well mark it up for the party!

"I'm 29!"
Lady bugs are my mom's favorite, and her nickname.

I made my mom's favorite cupcakes, Strawberry Shortcake from Chef Chloe.  Soooo good!
We received lots of pretty flowers from our guests!
And then there was there was the food!

And family!

Last but not least, we had to sing happy birthday and light the candles for the guests of honor!

Happy birthday mommy and Aunt Sara!
