Let's Get This Dresser Painted!

I was reviewing my giant list of things to do around our condo yesterday, and guess what?  There's really only a handful of small projects left to do that don't require saving up to buy big ticket things!

So sad, right?  I mean I can always find more things to do and re-organzize around the house, but a lot of things are done!

Good thing we paid off our car last month!  Now we have more cash to save up for new counter tops, carpet, and seating for the spare room.  It'll be interesting to see if I can get myself to wait!

In the meantime, I jumped on a new renovation last week.  We have another set of neighbors annoyed with our renovations, so I am saving a couple spray painting and sawing projects until we go visit Tim's parents house.  I hate waiting.  But that's OK, I have two jewelry box orders waiting to be made.  Oh yeah, that requires annoying the neighbors more.  Le sigh.

But here's something that doesn't need spray paint or loud machines- painting our Ikea dressers!
I saw this awesome dresser renovation on Pinterest and fell in love.
And decided to copy it exactly.  Well, that remains to be seen because right now it's still only painted.  But we'll see.
I created a custom mix by mixing white with our bedroom wall color.  At first I tried for off white but it just looked purple. So then I went with a medium gray mix.

Painting the dresser was super easy.  I didn't even need to sand these cheap Ikea Malm dressers.  two coats of primer and two coats of paint was all it took.  Wham, Bam, Thank You Pinterest.

Now I've got to decide if I want to do paintable wall paper, lace, or something else on the drawers.  I've already got trim picked out, and a general idea of knobs to add.  Now that I only have a few small projects left to do, I'm going to let this one simmer for awhile!

Check out my project gallery for more ideas!
