Raising the Bar

Springs a comin' and I'm a cleanin'!  Actually not really.  I have been cleaning a lot lately, but then I turn around and it's all dusty and messy again.  How does this happen?  I do not know, but I tell yah.  When Tim and I pay off the car, we're hiring a maid!  We've already decided!  And then going to Thailand.  And Greece.  Maybe Argentina too.  We'll see.

Anyway, one of the main things I'm focusing on is eliminating clutter and bringing more organization into our lives!  Who doesn't need more organization all the freaking time?  Because even when everything has it's place, you have to actually put it there to make the system work.
Well, we have an old TV stand that we turned into a dining hutch/bar/party cabinet type thing.  It has two sides and we've always used one side to hold stemware and liquor.  Just like my jewelry box, I've been hemming and hawing over how to organize it since we moved into this condo.

The last time we rearranged the room, the bar somehow ended up looking like it does above.  The drawer is literally just shoved in on top of something, there's a shelf with a bunch of movies we've borrow from friends, liquor, and random serve ware.  The problem was that at one point we removed the drawer and lost the screws and never found them.

Oh well, that's what you find other random screws for.

Also, we picked up two of these $9 wine racks at Ikea to hold the bottles.  We spray painted them Dark Walnut just like our dining table.
Unfortunately, only one fit in the space (way to measure before opening and assembling them so I can't return the second), so the other is up for grabs (I assume Alex and Lindsey will take it!)!

We re-installed the drawer, put in the wine rack, and voila!

All pretty and organized, with a spot for everything!

We use stemless wine glasses 99.9% of the time, so our drawer is full of them along with rocks glasses.  I really don't ever bother with anything like margarita or martini glasses, they just all go in a rocks glass or a normal water glass.
And there you have it!  I've been trying to tackle every little spot in the house and purge, purge, purge, but it definintely takes awhile!  Happy Friday!
