Orange French Toast

Have any of you ever read the Vegan Stoner?  I stumbled across this blog on Pinterest an immediately knew that something called the Vegan Stoner had to be amazing.

The blog is filled with easy to make vegan recipes with super simple to follow pictures.  Take a look at the recipe for Orange French Toast, which I decided to make:
My attempt at French Toast was iffy.  I've never actually made it myself, even the old fashioned way in my pre-vegan days.  My mom made the best breakfast foods around so I just waited until I could go home and have it right.
Orange French Toast
  • Bread
  • Orange Juice
  • Soy Milk
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • Vegan Butter
  • Maple Syrup
Mix together one part OJ and one part soy milk.

Add in two spoonfuls of powdered sugar and one spoonful of cinnamon.  Melt butter in a pan.
Fortunately I have a husband who does know how to make french toast, and clued me in that you aren't supposed to completely submerge the bread in the batter before frying it.  Whoops!  Just a light coat on each side and then fried up in the prepared pan should do the trick.
I still sucked at it though, so Tim got to finish making dinner while I pouted and poked his side as he fried the toast.
And voila!  Orange French Toast!
We had our toast with some faux maple sausages and a side of grapes.  Brinner is back in the house!
