Dining Room Reveal

It's time to reveal our new "dining room"!  I say "dining room" with quotations because it's very much not a room and very much more half the space of our living room, but hey, we get to live minutes from the heart of Seattle in exchange for living in a modest sized home!

So without further ado, here's the end result after we refinished a table passed down to us from my parents (read more about that here, here, and here), bought new leather parson chairs from Overstock with the money we got from selling our previous table, made a bubble chandelier, and moved the dining hutch over to this half of the room (after previously residing next to where the couch is now):

Here's a close up of the new chairs.  I am in love with them!  We managed to score a killer deal on them since I had my eye on them for awhile.  In addition to $2.95 shipping, I also found a $10 coupon and they happened to be on sale for an additional $30 off!  We compared them to the "fancier" dining chairs I always had my eye on at Ikea, and the chairs I purchased were only $30 more than Ikea's fabric covered parson's chair!
They're one of the only nicer furniture purchases in the condo, and you can definitely tell!  I can't wait until the day eventually comes when Tim and I can afford to slowly replace all our Ikea furniture with nicer quality items!  I thought we had started to move away from having everything we own be from Ikea, but then I realized that with the exception of these new table and chairs in the living room, and a Crate and Barrel bookshelf and Target TV stand in the game room, everything else hails from the Swedish furniture makers themselves!  Oh well, only our couch was purchased recently, everything else is from a post-college "I have no furniture, better hit up Ikea!" phase.

Another little tid-bit, in reference to my wacky planning methods, I found these two pictures on our desktop the other day.  I drew the picture on the bottom months ago when we were first planning how to re-arrange our living room, and I drew the top photo slightly more recently to map out the dining area.

I think I did a pretty good job of matching my Paint sketches in real life!  What do you all think?

I love hearing your comments! Thanks for stopping by!
