Baking Soda = Winning

OK I'm officially a convert to making my own cleaning products.  OK, that's a bit of a stretch, but I am now a huge believer in the power of baking soda.  I've always known that baking soda is a great natural cleanser and brightener (did you know that you brushing with a little baking soda before toothpaste is a great all natural way to whiten your teeth?  It works, I've tried it!), but I must have been too lazy in the past to really try it out.

Our shower had been getting pretty grimy and gross and I was about fed up, to the point of actually cleaning something myself (I'm not the world's best cleaner).   I've tried scrubbing with baking soda in the past, but I must have done something wrong because my shower never seemed to get clean.  I've tried a bevy of other cleaning products as well- mostly natural ones, and nothing ever seemed to work!  In one desperate attempt, I even tried bleach, something I swore I'd never use (it's so incredibly toxic!)!  But, again and again, nada!

But then when I was browsing some all natural cleaning remedies again recently, I realized what I did wrong the last time I tried baking soda in my shower- I just sort of dumped a bunch in the shower, poured vinegar over it, and half heartedly scrubbed it after a few minutes.  This time, I applied a leftover lemon all over the shower, then mixed some baking soda with a bit of water to make it scrub like, then started to scrub the shower.

All the disgusting dirt and grime came up immediately!  I barely had to touch the thing and it was sparkly clean and bright white!  I was literally jaw dropped the entire time I was scrubbing, and my shower looks so awesomely clean right now, I might just eat dinner off of it!

And the best part was, it was so easy!  I literally took my less time to prepare the baking soda than it did to go get a sponge to clean it.  I even scrubbed all the sinks while I was in there too.  Ahh, I love a good and clean home!  If only it magically stayed this way 24/7!
