Bridge Over Troubled Waters

I can't stop listening to this song. It's just amazing. Most people (OK practically everyone) likes music, but for me it's a spiritual experience- the closest I've ever come to feeling truely spiritual has been listening to great songs where you can really hear the artist's emotions and love for their music- like Eric Clapton playing Tears in Heaven or Bell Bottom Blues or Presence of the Lord. Or Elton John's Boarder Song or Mona Lisa and Mad Hatters. And of course my two favorite songs in the world, Let it Be and Music of the Night. All I need to do is turn on one of these songs and I'm taken away. After a long stressful day, I always turn on Pink Floyd and relax. When I am feeling happy and want to hear something good, I turn on Otis Redding or Sam Cooke. There are just so many amazing songs that touch me in ways people must feel like when they experience their own personal version of state of nirvana.

When I listen to more modern music, sure it's got a catchy beat and I enjoy singing Katy Perry and Ke$ha as much as the next girl (or Tim) but then I am reminded that truely wonderful music still exists when I hear the melodies of Sea Wolf or the Black Keys.

However, sixties and seventies will forever touch me more musically than any other era. I was definitely born in the wrong decade, but hey I'm not complaining about the better opoptunities and quality of life I've been provided in exchange :).
